The virtual HP3000
The Stromasys HPA project, which was publicly announced in 2010, concerned the development of a virtual HP3000 system based on our proven CHARON ® technology. The goal was to run the unmodified MPE/iX operating system and all its tools and applications on an industry standard server.
The project phase concluded successfully with a full boot of the MPE/iX operating system and execution of hardware HP3000 diagnostics on an Intel core I7 system. The results and the interest from MPE/iX users made Stromasys decide to take the next step.Therefore,CHARON-HPA/3000 has started its Field Test phase in September 2011.
With the completion of the field test in early April 2012, Stromasys announces the release of CHARON-HPA/3410, the first member of the product family. Next model upgrades, CHARON-HPA/3510 and 3520, are currently being developed and should be ready by end of June 2012.
The HP3000 solution
Answering to a growing demand from the market and based on Stromasys extensive experience with CHARON cross-platform virtualization projects and products, the company decided to introduce the “HP3000 MPE/iX Consolidation Package”, a tailored project to securely transform your HP3000 environment into a CHARON-HPA/3000 solution.
