CHARON-HPA/3000

The Stromasys ZELUS project, which was publicly announced in 2010, concerned the development of a virtual HP3000 system based on our proven CHARON ® technology. Using the same concept as our CHARON-11, CHARON-VAX and CHARON-AXP products (over 4000 installations), the ZELUS goal was to run the unmodified MPE/iX operating system and all its tools and applications on an industry standard server.

The ZELUS project phase concluded successfully with a full boot of the MPE/iX operating system and execution of hardware HP3000 diagnostics (!) on an Intel core I7 system. The results and the interest from MPE/iX users made us decide to take the next step.

CHARON-HPA/3000 has started its Field Test phase in September 2011. With the field test nearing completion we are pleased to publish the CHARON-HPA roadmap and to announce CHARON-HPA/3410, the first member of the product family.

Based on our extensive experience with CHARON cross-platform virtualization projects and products that we have introduced since the creation of our company in 1999, and the delivery, installation and support of the 4500+ product licenses that we have sold, we are pleased to introduce the "The HP 3000 MPE/iX Consolidation Package", a tailored project to securely transform your HP 3000 environment into a CHARON-HPA/3000 solution.
