1. Introduction

Stromasys publishes the CHARON newsletter to keep customers, potential customers and partners informed about the recent changes in CHARON product offerings and functionality updates.

The last Newsletter was published in June 2006.

2. CHARON-VAX Training

The next CHARON-VAX training will take place during February 20th and 21st, 2007. Partners and customers are invited to attend. For more information, please see here:

3. Announcing CHARON-TB for Windows

4. Retiring CHARON-11 and CHARON-VAX/Industrial

CHARON-11 for Windows and CHARON-VAX/Industrial (Plus) for Windows are both being replaced by CHARON-TB for Windows. They will no longer be sold by Stromasys. Supported customers will continue to be offered support through 31 December 2007.

 

5. Announcing version 3.2 of CHARON-VAX/X*

This new version brings the following:

-          The virtual VAX 3600/3900 is now included in all CHARON-VAX/X*.

-          The virtual VAX 3600/3900 now support more than 64 MB of memory.

-          GOLD and PLATINUM supported customers will receive license updates and installation instructions within the coming weeks.

-          The CHARON-VAX license key must be specifically updated to run version 3.2.

6. Oracle RDB supported on CHARON

Oracle Corporation supports VAX or Alpha versions of Oracle Rdb and Oracle CODASYL DBMS and their related products running on CHARON-VAX or CHARON-AXP provided that any problems reported can be reproduced by Oracle Support on an actual VAX or Alpha system.
